This year is like no other with students returning to even more uncertainty than they would otherwise. We are raising funds to provide personalized supply and support kits for 75 young people in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood. Our conversations with principals and teachers helped us come up with a list of what’s needed most. Volunteer opportunities include packing kits, personalizing journals and transporting the kits to Kids Off the Block to meet the founder and clients.

Exhaustion is nothing new for our Black brothers and sisters. The emotional, mental and physical toll of systemic racism is heavy and altogether too much.

Alongside that experience, many allies are having an awakening - within ourselves, in our communities and in our work. That requires grappling.
